Birthday Extravaganza Checklist

June 12, 2011

Here are ten easy steps to a great birthday celebration.

1: Roadtrip – Take a scenic drive to a lodge or a resort nearby while munching on homemade cookies.

Step 2: Spa – Relax with a glass of wine and a therapeutic massage. I found a new favorite – Organic Naked Pear Riesling.

Step 3: Dinner out – Enjoy a meal out with a special someone (Freshly baked bread is my weakness – I way overdid it on those potato rosemary buns.)

Stealing the first bite out of Eric’s elk burger, while I had Seared Ahi Tuna salad as my main course.

One of my favorite desserts to order out is Crème Brule. There is something so exquisite about breaking the hard caramelized top to get to the sweet gooey center.

Step 4: Sleep in – Snuggle up with no alarms going off and no mewing kittens scratching at the door.

Step 5: Brunch- Enjoy a hearty breakfast with a candle-lit chocolate chip muffin.

I had a “Mt. Stuart” egg white omelet with shrimp, pico de gallo, avocado and fresh fruit. Eric went with a bacon cheddar omelet and roasted potatoes.

Step 6: Frozen Yogurt – Have TCBY for lunch. It’s your birthday, have it your way!

Step 7: Movie  – Laugh at a comedy and snack on free popcorn and soda.

Step 8: Coffee Break – Stop by your favorite coffee shop for a caffeine boost.

Step 9: Phad Thai – Feast at your favorite Thai restaurant (fresh spring rolls, phad thai, ginger chicken, and steamed brown rice)
