Girls’ Hour

June 29, 2011

Last night, I met up with my girlfriends for happy hour. It is important to regularly spend time in a female circle to discuss things that really matter how much boys suck how much we love our husbands and how lucky we are to have them. We talked about our hobbies and interests (I could not stop babbling about running and my upcoming races just like a school girl about a first crush). We exchanged recipes, makeup tips and product finds, and shared gossip and family stories. Most importantly it’s a way for us to empower each other to continue to be awesome. Nowadays, we all have similar challenges of balancing family, work, friends, and still finding time for ourselves to do things we love (and to avoid losing our minds completely.) When we get together it’s always nice to hear positive re-enforcement and recognize you are not alone in this struggle of modern life.

No matter how much time/effort I spend in the morning styling my hair, it has a mind of its own and decides to flip wherever it wants to.

We met at Watercress Bistro and ordered my favorite appetizers – fresh shrimp rolls, green onion pancakes, and grilled chicken satay with peanut sauce.

I strongly recommend you try their Argentinian Malbec (it’s very smooth and sweet) if you are ever in the neighborhood.

What’s your favorite thing to do with your friends?
