Grandparents

October 9, 2013

We’ve been busy in our neck of the woods. First, my in-laws came to visit us and to meet Noah.

And then bubbie was back for a week to lend a hand while Eric jetted off to a conference in Bulgaria.

Noah really enjoyed his time with grandparents. There was a lot of playing, holding and kissing, strolling outside, story telling, etc.

He even invented a new game where he would pretend to want a binkie but as soon as grandma would put it in his mouth he’d spit it out and laugh. Little trickster!

It was Eric’s dad’s birthday, so we headed out for a family dinner at County Line BBQ. Their country-style honey whole wheat bread is the best! We always get a full loaf and eat it for dessert, breakfast, and snacks (if it lasts that long).

The next day we celebrated the actual birthday by having cake at our place.

But the real treat for grandpa was to hang out with his son and grandson.IMG_1045IMG_0004

Sadly, grandpa could only stay for a week. For week 2, it was grandma’s turn for some quality time with Noah.

Eric and I took advantage of the extra adults in the house and enjoyed some alone time out. One night, Mommy was craving sushi (after living in Seattle for many years, I vowed to never eat mainland sushi, but after nine long pregnant months, things change. A Groupon deal helped entice me to try Midori Sushi and it was not bad.)

As always, frozen yogurt for desert.

Another night, we hit Trudy’s for my two favorite things – a Mexican Martini and veggie quesadilla on whole wheat tortilla.

We concluded the series of dates at PF Chang’s.

Now things are slowly returning back to normal (as normal as they can be with a three month old in the house). Noah and I are back to spending days on our own. Monday was the hardest, as Noah was anticipating more  attention and playtime, while mom got used to having some free time on her own. Without a doubt, we miss having grandparents around. Hopefully, we’ll get to see them again soon.

I bet it was nice to get a break and get some time to yourselves! Hope you’re still liking Texas! 🙂
