Leaving on a Jet Plane

Noah is 5 1/2 months old.

Every day I don’t think I can love this little guy more, and every day he proves me wrong.

So much has happened over the last month and a half…

Back in October, Noah got to meet Aunt Horriyeh and mom got to hang out with her BFF for a whole week!

Not even six months old, and Noah has already conquered (our) fear of flying. We went to Seattle for a week for Eric to attend a conference. Noah had a quick 15 minute meltdown in the airport, but behaved wonderfully on the actual flight. The air pressure changes did not seem to bother him and he nursed and napped all through the rocky parts.

Noah got to celebrate his first Thanksgiving. It’s a serious business! He even wore a collared shirt to mark the occasion.

In case there were any doubts, Noah had a bib to prove this was really his first time at the Thanksgiving table.

Alas, the bib was a fib — no turkey was harmed nor eaten at our vegetarian meal, instead we indulged in delicious carbs of all varieties – Oy vei orzo salad, panko crusted mac’n’cheese, and sweet potato latkes (as Hanukkah overlapped with Thanksgiving this year).

Noah’s neck/head support has improved tremendously. He demands to be seated upright in his Bumbo throne so he can observe the locomotion of the minions around him.

He’s been playing more and more in the exersaucer and has been attempting to crawl, which right now resembles more of an inch worm move.

Noah started rolling over a couple of weeks back. He first rolled from tummy to belly while mom vigorously snapped photos on her phone.

A week later, he was rolling the other way.

Noah’s been a real hungry monkey lately. Nursing up to 45 minutes and barely lasting four hours between feeds even at night (say so long to 7 hour uninterrupted sleeps for mom and dad).

(Don’t be fooled by the temporary milk coma!)

So we figured it was time to introduce solids. Noah ate his first mushed up banana like he’s been eating off a spoon his entire life. He had mixed feelings about avocado at first, but as long as mom smiles and cheers with delight after each bite, he’ll eat whatever she is serving. (Fingers crossed this attitude continues).

Noah is a real giggler these days. It does not take much to crack him up – a few funny faces, animal sounds, mom’s touch of his cheek, tickling of his feet, or even dad’s congested breathing.

Noah’s been enjoying car rides and is often excited to get into his car seat (as long as he is not hungry, sleepy, poopy, etc.)

Noah is a super baby, and we look forward to what new tricks he’ll learn milestones he’ll reach as we get closer to celebrating his 6 months birthday.
