Where to, Bub?

Noah is 8 months old!

He’s beefed up this month, gaining almost 2lbs, which puts him at 19.6lbs (right at the 50th percentile, according to the Mayo clinic).

With sitting in the bag, Noah’s moved on to practicing new skills…

Standing. Mom still needs to lend a hand to get Noah up to standing, but he can last a couple of minutes on his own from there.

Crawling. We’ve got a new Swiffer at home. Noah’s got reverse crawling down pat, so with rolling and turning he can get anywhere he needs to… backwards.

Babbling and Giggling. The world is just one funny place when you are a baby. It’s easy to get this guy excited with kisses, tickles, funny noises, facial expressions (or in mom’s case just eating a pear can be a real hoot!)

Toy Playing. The ring stack is the toy of the month.

With the winter weather behind us (fingers crossed there won’t be any more Arctic waves coming through Texas), Noah’s been enjoying afternoon time at the park.

He likes swinging on the big boy swing and driving a wooden car (with a facial expression that would be entirely at home on a Russian cabbie in Brooklyn 🙂

We made some changes to our bedtime routine – delaying bath time so that dad can read Noah a couple of bedtime stories after work. Then we nurse to sleep.

Noah loves spending time in his new booster seat so he can monitor his kingdom better from higher up.

Noah continues to eat like a champ. This month we expanded the menu to include mangos, zucchini and hummus. Hummus gets mixed reviews, depending on the level of hunger and the mood.

We had our first family portraits done. We have yet to receive the professional photos, but in the meantime, here are a couple that we took ourselves.

We celebrated Valentine’s day with a lunch at the oldest burger joint in Austin – Huts, where Noah kept making faces at mom.

Another month has flown by and with Noah becoming more mobile, I look forward to keeping up with the little guy as he masters crawling over the next month. I wish teething, on the other hand, could be delayed indefinitely.
