When Life Gives You Lemons

Noah is 14 months old and he weighs 24.5lbs, having gained about 0.6lbs since his June weigh-in.

A lot has happened over the last two months. Noah got to taste a lemon. While at a dinner out, he reached across the table and grabbed a slice of lemon. Luckily mom had the camera handy to capture his reaction.

Right after Noah turned 1, he took his first step from the couch to the ottoman. Over the next couple of weeks we kept pushing the ottoman further away, so Noah kept on take more and more steps to get to it. By 13 months he was taking 5-6 steps independently. And now he is schlepping all over the place.

For our afternoon swim time, we’ve upgraded from a baby canopy to a puddle jumper which Noah loves, as it allows for him to move freely around the baby pool.

Since Noah’s started walking, it’s hard to get him out of our neighborhood park. We are there at least an hour every day.

There are so many fascinating things at the park – a toy truck, which Noah likes to collect rocks in, a giant blue recycling bin that Noah can practice his future chores on, and mom’s running shoe that she happened to take off for a second to get some pebbles out.

Noah is extremely fascinated with wheels. He is too short to reach the pedals on his tricycle, but it’s fun when mom pushes him around.

This kid does not need any toys when there are so many fun things lying around the house – like a headset and tupperware.

Mom’s makeup drawer is Noah’s favorite treasure chest of all.

He is all about stacking things and putting them inside other things. The other day I found my lip-gloss in the kitchen cabinet, my cellphone in the underwear drawer and a TV remote in the pantry. I am still searching for my hairbrush that Noah hid two days ago. But more often than not, Noah actually tries to return the items in the right places, which melts my heart. This little guy is just awesome!
